We spent 10 days in Raja Ampat, which is an incredibly remote destination. Since it was our first time visiting, we decided to rely on Evaneos to help us organize the itinerary and the logistics. One of the best decisions was having a private speedboat at our disposal, with Captain Guntur, our guide, and a crew member on board. It made the whole experience much easier and more enjoyable, especially considering the distances between the islands. We usually did around two snorkeling sessions per day in different spots, as well as directly in front of our homestays on our own. The underwater life is simply spectacular. Every two or three days we moved to a different area to explore the huge atolls of Raja Ampat, and it was absolutely magnificent. I highly recommend having a private guide and boat, especially if you are staying for a limited amount of time. It gives you much more flexibility with schedules and movements, and in our case it was also very convenient from a cost perspective. We opted to stay in local Homestays that have a limited water and electricity, up and running form 7pm to midnight, they usually have starlink connection to surf the net. We really enjoyed the food and the staff was very friendly.
